At the beginning of 2024 I turned my study and reading time towards Genesis and the Creation story. As I explored the meaning of Creation further, my mind began to wonder how beautiful and perfect the Garden of Eden must have been.

Reflecting on the Beauty and Majesty of the Creation Narrative

Digital artwork offers a unique canvas for artists to explore the beauty and majesty of the Creation narrative. By using this exciting new technology, I have been able to express my feelings towards the beauty and majesty of the Creation narrative in a unique and modern way.

Through AI generated digital art, using both Canva’s in-house Magic Studio and Nightcafe’s software, I was able to imagine scenes from the Garden of Eden infusing them with modern interpretations and creative twists.

This medium has allowed me to convey the awe-inspiring aspects of Creation in a visually stunning and thought-provoking manner, inviting viewers to reflect on the profound themes and messages within the narrative.

I began by brainstorming key words from my study of the scriptures and related expository books. I have found ‘The Bible Speaks’ series by Inter Varsity Press particularly helpful, especially on the topic of Creation. Using descriptors such as the required colours, style of imagery as well as the biblical words such as beauty, majesty, divine, heavenly, and so on, these help the AI software to translate my text into the rich images you see in the collections.

Selecting the Right Tools and Software:

I chose 2 software programmes to create contrast. Magic Studio on Canva.com and Nightcafe. These tools are simple to use and produced artwork that aligned with my artistic vision.

Executing the Creation of the Digital Art

I chose to focus on key themes of the Creation Narrative: Gardens, Creatures – Dolphins, Lions, Tigers, Swans, Butterflies and Oceans. I tried to create meaningful imagery to add depth and layers of interpretation. I wanted to convey the complexity of Creation with the intricacies of the beauty. I want to encourage viewers to engage with the artwork on multiple levels, encouraging deeper reflection and connection to the Creation narrative.
